After a lot of waiting and speculation, Toyota is finally launching the GR Corolla hot hatch. With 300 horsepower under the hood, a rally-developed all-wheel-drive system, and manual-only transmission, the GR Corolla promises to be the perfect ride for driving enthusiasts in Woodbridge, Virginia.
The all-new 2023 Toyota GR Corolla uses a turbocharged 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine — and yes, this does mean that it cranks out 100 horsepower per cylinder. It also produces up to 273 lb-ft of torque, so needless to say, the little hatchback packs quite a big punch.
It also uses an AWD system adapted from the one originally developed for Toyota’s GR Yaris rally-winning competition car. This clever setup can be adjusted on the go to distribute either 40%, 50%, or 70% of total power to the rear axle, making the car extremely versatile on a wide variety of surfaces and terrains.
The GR Corolla hot hatch will be sold at just a single trim level with all of the goodies you could want, like a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, Toyota Safety Sense™ 3.0 driver-assistance features, and Michelin® Pilot Sport 4 tires. It doesn’t get much better than that!
If you love to drive fast, snappy cars that don’t break the bank, Toyota’s new offering couldn’t be better. Visit Lustine Toyota in Woodbridge, Virginia, to reserve yours.
